Urban Habitats Strategy for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, with support from European cross-border Urban Habitats programme to improve availability and quality of urban natural spaces and enhance awareness and engagement of urban nature by local communities, in light of increasing pressure from economic and population levels.
The commission included An access strategy – focused on the proposed ‘Stonebridge Park’ area; Planning and engineering – in conjunction with the council to improve access for cyclists and pedestrians across the A1159/A13; Design work in relation to Stonebridge Park, including consideration of its historic landscape character; and identification of further opportunities to enhance access to greenspace.
