Masterplans and detail design of external areas for three secondary schools and four primary schools on four greenfield sites, including a complex learning campus containing both severe and multiple learning difficulty special schools and mainstream primary and secondary schools.
Design proposals included covered recreation area in the form of a 50m diameter rotunda, an external amphitheatre, raised story lawns, sensory gardens and adventure playgrounds. Special measures were incorporated within the designs and construction programmes to take account of environmental issues such as protected species, existing trees and hedgerows, a County Wildlife Site and a sustainable approach to drainage.
