Landscape proposals for a temporary scheme during Cross Rail construction activities that occupied part of the existing Sainsbury’s site, including a temporary multi-storey car park, an upgraded store entrance and public realm improvements for the local area.
The key objectives of the landscape scheme were to develop a strong, playful and easily legible character and establish a calm and unifying ground surface treatment that provided an appropriate and high-quality temporary setting to the new entrance. Improvements to the adjacent Brady Street were designed to create a more pedestrian-friendly road with the focus on upgrading pathways and improved street lighting whilst reducing the width of the road to allow for one way traffic.
