Montague Park Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace, Wokingham
A residential development for 650 homes within a Strategic Development Location allocated by Wokingham Borough Council. Ecological and arboricultural surveys, and landscape and visual appraisals guided the development of the masterplan. The landscape proposals include the provision of a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) as mitigation for potential increased recreational pressure on the Thames Basin Special Protection Area. The design of the SANG involved extensive consultation with Natural England and Wokingham Borough Council, and through attendance at a public exhibition. Landscape management proposals and costings were developed for the SANG and other areas of open space.
