This project has created an inspiring space for education, culture, music and the arts in Victorian farm buildings for the ACE Foundation, a Cambridge based charity providing support for educational projects, courses and summer schools, both locally and internationally.
The project involved the reconfiguration of the entrance approach and farm yard for a parking court, south facing external terrace and access to ancillary buildings. The materials are all porous to meet the Sustainable Urban Drainage requirements of the local authority, helping to reduce noise and dust and planting within the confined courtyard is protected by timber raised edges. A walled garden will be created beyond the office barn within the original farm yard.
