Preparation of a Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment as part of an EIA to assess the effects of the proposed new Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The development included the creation of a new high-profile stadium, residential development, a foodstore, and an extensive area of public realm. The scheme formed a key catalyst for urban regeneration within Tottenham, requiring integration with a number of listed buildings and High Road Conservation Area. The assessment considered the effects on local townscape character and a variety of visual receptors within the local and wider context, including key long distance views. Working with the design team, the consented proposals successfully achieved the club’s needs, together with the creation of distinctive new built forms and open space, whilst integrating the proposals into its setting.
