Open Spaces Strategy for Tendring District Council as part of its evidence gathering work for the Local Development Framework. The commission included an audit of all open spaces greater than 0.2ha across the full range of open space typologies recommended in PPG17: Planning for Open space, Sport and Recreation; a comprehensive needs assessment; and stake holder and community consultation.
Standards were identified for each typology based on quantity, accessibility and quality as recommended by PPG 17. Current deficiencies against all the standards were noted and a comprehensive list of recommendations were developed to help mitigate the deficiencies identified.
