Early stage design study for a section of the former, historically significant, Grand Surrey Canal, which once extended between Greenland Dock and Blackhorse Road in south-east London. Our involvement included a design review of three large-scale mixed-use development proposals facing onto the former canal. The Landscape Partnership provided key liaison between the local planning authority and applicants, and provided landscape and urban design advice as to how these proposals could be integrated to form one unified design solution whilst taking into account wider strategic issues. A masterplan was developed for the former canal route and detailed design and contract administration for a section of the new linear park. The canal park provides a key strategic link in north Lewisham though three major developments.
