Strategic masterplan to provide a long-term vision for the future of St Albans city centre and its wider surrounds. Key themes included the physical environment, transport, culture and leisure.
Following Extensive analysis and stakeholder workshops, proposals included a co-ordinated strategy for open space and public realm; central to this was the establishment of a ‘green ring’ to encompass the city, forming a strong connection around its periphery with improved pedestrian and cyclist routes. This united and enhanced the existing green infrastructure, offering sustainable opportunities for accessing both the city and the wider countryside.
