Babraham Research and Development 2
Babraham Research Campus comprises world-class research and scientific facilities. The proposed extension to the campus included two new research buildings with associated parking and access connections with the existing campus buildings. The site is set within the Cambridge Green Belt and historically was part of informal parkland associated with Babraham Hall. The landscape scheme was developed to reflect this parkland character whilst providing additional landscape features that enhance the character of the Site and make a significant contribution to the biodiversity.
A landscape and visual appraisal, arboricultural survey and assessment, ecological appraisal and protected species survey were undertaken to inform the development of a landscape strategy for the outline planning application, with detailed proposals developed for a reserved matters application and discharge of planning conditions. Implementation of the works was inspected during construction and maintenance periods.
