Detailed analysis of the landscape sensitivity and capacity of land around the edges of six settlements in order to assess the potential suitability to accommodate future development with a focus on residential use. specific methodology was prepared, based on current best practice and a total of 122 land parcels identified and then assessed and graded for their landscape capacity, with further details provided on appropriate development guidelines where the parcel was considered suitable for development. The study formed part of the evidence base for Harborough District Council’s Local Plan and its findings were considered alongside other relevant factors to assess the suitability of settlements to accommodate future development. The study has also been used as part of the evidence at Public Inquiries and Hearings.
