The Landscape Partnership has had a long association with the progressive dualling of the A11, having been employed as environmental consultants the ECI (early contractor
involvement) scheme to dual the A11 between Roudham Heath and Attleborough in Norfolk. The practice provided input to the Environmental Statement,
and undertook landscape design and negotiations for on and offsite planting.
We worked with engineers, ecologists and the contractor to design solutions that met not only the needs of the highway authorities, but also those of the user and the environment.
It enabled many potentially contentious issues to be designed out, including adverse effects on views and access and loss of planting.
Clerk of works services were provided for construction phase followed by monitoring during the five-year maintenance period.
