Landscape consultancy services to inform decision making on the proposed location and potential impact of a new civic centre adjacent to the Water Gardens (designed by Geoffrey Jellicoe and registered on the List of Historic Parks and Gardens).
Commission included preparation of a Statement of Significance, an historic assessment of the Gardens and its development, an ecological appraisal and a condition survey. Outline proposals for the restoration of the Water Gardens were identified and costed, followed by an appraisal of the proposed future development. Design parameters for the new civic centre were identified together with advice on delivery of the restoration works for the Gardens.
