Chelveston Renewable Energy Park, Northamptonshire
Energy park located on a former airfield, straddling Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, incorporating a biomass and biofuel plant, windfarm, solar, and battery building. The practice has been involved with all stages of the energy park, including the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs), rights of way assessments and cultural heritage assessments, some of which have formed part of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Input was also provided into the layout of each element of the energy park, to minimise impacts on sensitive visual receptors and heritage assets. This was followed by representation at public inquiry to successfully obtain consent of biofuel plant and wind turbines on appeal. Detailed planting proposals were also provided as part of the planning submission.
